George's Meeting

Conversion of a Grade 1 listed Georgian church into a shop and restaurant.

Georges Meeting, a former Unitarian church, was built in 1760 and is listed Grade I. The project involved restoring and converting the building from near dereliction. The shop occupied the oak-galleried main hall, where it was arranged on an open plan basis. The restaurant was developed in the rear hall, where a new mezzanine level was inserted, creating an airy, galleried space lit by the restored lantern light and opening onto a landscaped courtyard.

Specially made ironwork and light fittings were designed to provide signage and illumination to the front.

Sadly, the building has since been reconverted, into a pub!
